It’s great to have a book tailored to the subject of fashion illustration. Hats off to Julia for bringing together a collection of artists who take the time out to do what they do best and are willing to share their knowledge with others. Reading this inspired me to try new techniques and keep pushing my art.

I refused to eat the shark fin soup. It sounds crazy, but I’m convinced that played a major role in the recent loss of my design job. Over the past fifteen years, I have held some rather difficult jobs and worked with some seriously crazy people. It’s definitely been character building, to say the least. I had been working in my latest role for just over eight months and I walked on egg shells every day because I feared that I could lose my job at any moment. I knew it was coming, the pattern had long been established.

Paul Cavazza’s Background
Cavazza’s parents ran a clothing manufacturing company in his hometown of Marlborough, New York. They lived above the factory. He and his brothers worked there after school. “My parents,” he joked, “didn’t know what child labor laws were.” He and his brothers did tasks like sewing on [...]

Ann Taylor at 14th St. Union Square last week during Fashion Week 2009 promoting “The New Ann” Fall collection which is designed for career women 30 and above. I ‘m not too familiar with this market, but don’t you wonder if this kiosk design and presentation make people want to buy or spread the word?
